The above-named office is an office in the College headed by The Students’ Affairs Officer. This office has the core mandate of liaising between the College Management and the entire student body. That is to say that the office works to serve students’ interest with respect to issues regarding every aspect of their activities in the college while on campus.
The specific areas of operation regarding the Students’ Affairs Office may include;
- Students’ halls of residence. It is the duty of the Students’ Affairs Office to allocate students into the eight (8) halls of residence the moment they are admitted into the College
- All activities in the halls of residence are supervised by hall staff who work under this office
- Any disciplinary issues from the students front as far as halls are concerned are dealt with by officers working under the jurisdiction of this office
- All activities that The Students Representative Council (SRC) engages in while on campus
- Any other happenings that directly or indirectly affect students while on campus
The Students’ Affairs Officer who heads this office serves as the principal signatory to the SRC accounts and therefore has a supervisory role as far as projects executed by the SRC are concerned. He / she works with hall staff who help to manage the halls of residence. All other issues that may affect students’ welfare which need to be addressed by the College Management are presented to management on their behalf by the Students’ Affairs Officer.
