The department has a staff strength of nine (9) members consisting of two (2) for ICT and seven (7) for Mathematics education. The department has thrived on the wings of its hard-working, committed, and dedicated staff for the past years and still counting. During the covid-19 pandemic, the department had put in enough preparations that made it possible to hold online lessons and keep students active and learning in spite of the challenges of the season.
The department can boast of several lessons held online both synchronously and asynchronously to keep the academic year undisturbed in spite of covid-19 restrictions and protocols. The current four-year B.E.d program has seen a lot of progress and success in teaching and learning; STS engagements, project work, and teaching practice supervision, just to mention a few.
Through the current professional development sessions organized for members of staff in general and the department in particular, it is expected that teachers’ professional outputs and classroom performance would see much more improvement as the years go by. Individual members of the department have also engaged in various research outputs and personal development programs. As it stands at the moment, the sky is the limit and there is no relaxation.
