Department of Science

Welcome to the Department of Science Education of Wesley College of Education. The Department offers an undergraduate degree programme which includes elective or optional courses taken by students from different Departments in the College including Science and Mathematics, Agriculture and Science and Physical Education and Music programmes.
The range of courses reflects the ‘centre stage’ that the department occupies within the sciences, Agric and PE as well as the wide range of career opportunities available to science, Agric and PE graduates. Our degree programmes include many courses that allow a further range of options for further study, to gain work experience within science education,
or through long-term research projects for a higher degree.
Over the past three years, the Department has annually, on average, had about two hundred and seventy-one (271) students. Our students are supported by about fourteen (14) academic staff. As a multi-disciplinary science department, tutors are engaged in collaborations with their counterparts in biology, physics, chemistry, agriculture and physical education.
The Department has a dynamic, vibrant and highly stimulating teaching environment which has been achieved through a blend of high-quality students and tutors who are committed to teaching and learning.

The Wesley College of Education is situated on Tafo road, in Kumasi. The college is conveniently located inside the city centre of Kumasi. Wesley College of Education and for that matter, the department of science education is a great place to live and study!
