The National Teaching Council (NTC) has organized an induction program for newly qualified teachers who successfully passed the Ghana teacher licensure examination (GTLE) to welcome them to the teaching profession. The Teaching Council in a blog post sighted by Educationweb.com.gh said the induction program serves as on-the-job training where the newly qualified teachers are exposed to the nitty-gritty of the profession. “It is required that newly qualified teachers (trained teachers) undertake activities determined by the National Teaching Council (NTC) so that they will be considered fit for the job,” the Council stated in the post. The 2021 promotion test results of staff of the Service who sat for the 2021 edition of the examination administered on February 25 and 26, 2021 to various teaching grades have been released, the Ghana Education Service (GES) announced Friday. The Education Service in a blog post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said, out of 46,486 candidates who sat for the promotion test examination, 29,465 representing 63.3% successfully passed. For the Deputy Director grade 3,611 candidates took the test, out of which 2,139 representing 59.2 % were successful. The Management of the National Teaching Council (NTC) has agreed to organize an induction program for some newly trained teachers who could not partake in the earlier virtual induction program organized by the Teaching Council. This follows an appeal made by the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) for the National Teaching Council (NTC) to consider the newly trained teachers who for some reasons were not able to join the just ended program. GES has asked teachers who passed the February 2021 promotion test to submit hard copies of some documents to the Head of Human Resource Management Development at the GES headquarters by June 15, 2021, for promotion letters. The Education Service in a communique sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh said relevant documents like all professional certificates, previous promotion letters, application printouts and first appointment letter.
