Wesley College of Education, Kumasi (WESCO), successfully hosted its 20th Matriculation Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Year on Saturday, 28th February 2026, at the Brew Riverson Hall at exactly 9:00 AM.
The ceremony formally inducted 425 newly admitted students into the College, marking the beginning of their academic and professional journey in teacher education. The matriculants comprised 173 males and 252 females, reflecting the College’s continued commitment to inclusive access to higher education.

Wesley College of Education, Kumasi, continues to strengthen its research profile on the international stage through the scholarly contributions of Mr. Andrews Gyan of the Department of Languages. At the CAAS 2026 Conference, held from 9th to 12th June 2026 at Glendon College, York University, Toronto, Canada, Mr. Gyan presented two research papers under the conference theme, “Global Africa: Legacies, Change and Aspirations.”
His presentations, titled “The Influence of Ghanaian Languages on Learners’ Written Expression in French Language: Evidence from Student-Teachers in Colleges of Education” and “Akan Concepts of Death in Selected Highlife Songs of Oheneba E. K.”, contributed to important discussions on language education, culture, and African studies. These presentations highlight Wesley College of Education’s commitment to academic excellence, research, and global engagement.
